Dianthus plants produce richly fragrant flowers in spring and summer right up to the first frost.  Great for flowerbeds or rockeries.  They can be planted singly or in groups.  Dianthus are Bi - Annuals.

Postion:      Full sun in rich well drained soil.

Spacing:    25 - 35cm

Disease and Pests:

Insect and disease problems are infrequent, but mildew can be a problem in warm humid weather.  Treat with fungicides and insecticides if any problems occur. 


Dianthus are very easy to grow.  Feed once a month with a general fertilizer like 2.3.2.  Pinch old flowers to promote more flower development.  After flowers have died cut the stems down to ground level.
